Dr. Sheila Woodhouse was seeing a patient who didn’t know what medications he was taking — an all-too-common scenario. So she directed her staff to call the patient’s multiple physicians, hospitals and pharmacies.

But still no luck. They couldn’t piece together an accurate medication record.

The patient had to go home, find all his prescription information and schedule a new appointment with Dr. Woodhouse. Which resulted in lost time, unnecessary costs and a potentially dangerous situation for a patient who needed immediate care.
